New China in Boone

Everything has the same general taste, crab ragoons aren’t creamy... more chunky. Will go to buffet from now on. Ordered sweet and sour chicken, hunan beef and combination lomaine, with crab ragoons and pot stickers. Pot sticker sauce it’s sooooo salty.

Our favorite Chinese food place :) Great customer service, great food and big portions reasonably priced. I especially enjoy the vegetarian dish I usually order. And don't forget to ask for hot tea! Really a lovely little restaurant

The egg rolls were great quick service and all around pretty good good. One downside is there was no veggies or pineapple in the sweet and sour chicken, which I missed. But the egg roles with the sauce made up for it. Super good. Would definitely return!

The server seemed nice which is the only reason I would give it two stars. We have only eaten here once, but it was bad enough that we said never again. Our food was cold when it arrived, it tasted strange, almost like the meat hadn't been fully cooked. We both only ate part of our meals, paid the check and left. There was only one other table occupied while we were there. Kai Yuan which is literally a block down the street is a much better choice. Have never had a bad meal there and we eat there on average about twice a month.

The food was hot when it came out the waitress was always asking us there's anything that you can do for us she treated this great it was my mom's birthday.I suggest anybody getting the dinner plate because you guys food to take home with you and even when I warmed it up at home it still tastes just as good as when he brought it out to me. There's so much at the stay about this restaurant but I don't have time . I just want to give thumbs up to that restaurant I enjoy the aviance thank you so much for the dining experience that you gave my mother on her birthday keep up the great work and I will be coming there every time I go into Des Moines for dinner

I have eaten here for several years at least a few times a month and I can't say food has EVER been bad. Lunch proportions are huge. Carry out is always on time and accurate. Support your local Boone business.

New China always has good service, great food and a quiet atmosphere. I highly recommend the pot stickers, hot and sour soup, and Mongolian Beef

Delicious food! I usually get the bacon fried rice. This place is a must try if you've never been there

New China will always get five stars from me. While the decore and restaurant border on needing a major update the food never misses the mark and the portions leave you with leftovers for days. Plus the prices make you feel like you just cheated them and got a steal. I've been coming to New China since I was a little girl and anytime I meet someone who hasn't been there, it's the first place I take them. Trust me, you'll love what you get no matter what you select.

Friendly staff and portions that are out of control make New China worth a try.

They have always made some of the best dishes around. The prices aren't outrageous!

Good food

The food was fantastic. I even found out that they have 2 menus. One appears to be more common Chinese restaurant options while the second menu has unique things like eel, pig intestines, or mussels. I didn't care for the intestines but I was happy I had the option. Great service and will definitely be going back again.

How is this place in Boone Iowa?! LEGIT!! Make sure you ask for the secret menu. Sorry white people.

This is literally the best Chinese food I have ever had. Great customer service too. My order is always correct and ready in a very timely manner and the portions are well worth the price.

The food was barely average and the service was terrible. The person who owns the place was our sever and she acted like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us. She had a frown on her face the whole time, she also didn't ask if we needed our drinks refilled. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant

Better than buffet. Went there at about 530 on a Monday and it was dead. Quick service. The chicken stuff my kids got was a little basic and very sweet (orange chicken and sesame chicken). Lo mein was good. Rice was a little sticky, but good (fried rice). Whatever I got was great. It was some beef/shrimp thing and the beef didn't get overpowered by the shrimp.

Best tasting American Chinese menu and Traditional Chinese Menu around. Love the sweet and sour Chicken with white rice.

Great food! Super fast service. My girlfriend is from Boone and had talked this place up a lot. Did not disappoint. House made wantons, sauces and more. Shame I live so far away

Portions are huge. The food was amazing. Service was great the hostess was on top of everything and very nice. We live in Osage, IA and we are definitely coming back. Amazing just amazing.

I love their food items. Visit them almost every month. They have Hot and Sour soup which I like to taste. I am a fan of their Spicy chicken (boneless), not available in menu. You have to specify it while making the order. Eggplant with garlic sauce is just awesome. Their shrimp items are also good. You must visit them sometime.

Best Chinese food in Boone. I love their Hot & Sour Soup, their Vegetable Lo Mein is to die for, love, love, love their Sweet & Sour Pork, their Huge Egg Rolls . All their food is freshly made. I love the owner, she has a great memory at remembering favorites, she is friendly & chatty. Did I say I love this place?? :)

If you're unfamiliar with what 'authentic' Chinese should taste like this would be acceptable (hence the 3-star rating). Compared to many 'big city' places it would get 2 at best.

I was in Amarillo and asked somebody "where's the best Chinese food in Amarillo? The guy said... Denver." The situation is somewhat the same in Central, Iowa. That said, the food here is good. Service is competent. Love their soup and their tofu.

Amazing!!! This is my boyfriend and my new favorite place to eat! My boyfriend and I have been looking for a good chinese restaurant in town since we moved here in October. We decided to try this place out today for lunch and OMG!!! The portions are HUGE and the food AMAZING! My boyfriend got the triple delight lunch and i had the Chicken and Broccoli. Soooo tasty. The fried rice is so good (I usually hate fried rice) and it is moist too, (I hate my rice dry and fried rice usually ends up that way). The wonton soup is soooo good! We ordered two pints to eat later. The wonton even has actual meat and veggies in the soup, unlike most places I have went to. Did i mention it is really cheap? Lunch was only $7 plus tax per plate! totally worth it! If you are ever in boone looking for chinese try here! (They also have a separate authentic chinese menue too).

I get their general chicken whenever my work brings me to town. Very good, never been disappointed.

Got sesame chicken and when I opened the carton the upper half of chicken had no sauce, it was all at the bottom but the top had a bunch of sesame seeds poured on top so it clearly wasn't cooked together. The fried rice looked liked half fried and half steamed. Some of the chicken was a very light pink shade. Not an appetizing color whether it's safe or not. This restaurant seems to be struggling. Think I'll stick with the other one down the street.
